Good cocktails should advertise their effects. The Deadly Sin is certainly deadly, and the Suffering Bastard will leave you suffering. And no drink is better represented by its name than the Zombie.
A Zombie tastes delicious, and is packed with healthy juices–but be warned, fearless readers, this drink will make a walking corpse of you in no time, moaning and stumbling and searching for but one thing to slake your thirst: another Zombie. Adrift, Denver’s best tiki bar, limits this delicious mind-killer at two per customer.
The drink was invented by Donn Beach of LA’s famous cocktail lounge Don The Beachcomber to help a hungover client survive a business meeting. The drinker returned the next day claiming the drink had made him one of the living dead for the rest of the day. Thus a legend was born.
Treat the Zombie with caution. It may go down slow, and seem easily bested, but once bitten by this boozy menace, you’re a goner.
